Established in 1989 by Cliffard Whitby, Whitby Construction was later Incorporated into Whitby Inc. which is now located at 1680 Broadway, Macon Georgia 31201.

 

Whitby Inc. steadily evolved in the early 1990’s after partnering with the city of Macon to provide construction services.  At that time, the city, led by the Mayor, had undertaken a campaign to address blighted neighborhood communities via demolition and new residential and commercial construction projects.   Whitby Inc., one of the initial contractors, went on to secure several additional projects with the city.  Gross total revenue from these projects was   approximately $40 million dollars.  This included a national, award winning, new residential housing development, and an $8 million dollar project.

 

         In early 2002, Whitby Inc. purchased and renovated its current headquarters at 1680 Broadway.  Whitby, Inc. developed a 35,000 square feet facility of which a significant portion is leased to several organizations and businesses, many with federal long-term lease agreements.

 

         Among Whitby Inc.’s successful commercial projects is the renovation of the historic Ballard Hudson School, a $12 million project completed in early 2015.  Cliffard Whitby was awarded the position of construction manager by the non-profit organization, Central Georgia Partnership for Individual and Community Development to manage construction.  The 1962, 100,000 square feet structure was located at 1780 Anthony Road in Macon Georgia.
